Below are links to community organizations, initiatives, etc. that the St. Joe Valley Greens support.

Michiana Community Currency Initiative
Community currencies are value exchange systems used at the local level to replace, in part, U.S. dollars and barter systems. Because they can only be earned and spent locally, they encourage local economic initiative and enhance community control over economic life.

Michiana Peace and Justice Coalition
The Michiana Peace & Justice Coalition is an organization of concerned individuals and organizational representatives living in the border region of Michigan and Indiana that advocates and promotes peace and justice. The coalition believes these terms to be mutually dependent.

St. Joe Valley Project
The St. Joseph Valley Project is a grassroots coalition in North Central Indiana. Our mission is to unite clergy, community leaders, environmentalists, labor and neighborhood residents in striving for the economic revitalization of our region.

South Bend Equality
It is currently legal in South Bend for an employer to fire an employee, a landlord to refuse housing and the city to restrict access to public accommodations solely on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity. The goal of South Bend Equality is to amend our anti-discrimination ordinance to include sexual orientation and gender identity in order to prevent this type of discrimination and to allow for residents to have recourse if they believe this type of discrimination has occurred.
